Nick Cennamo, President, and Jon Floyd, Vice President, at the 2025 Cardboard Regatta
A Maine native, Nick grew up in Vassalboro. He first ventured out to Monhegan the summer between his freshman and sophomore year in college. His brother was working as a chef at the MoHo house and helped Nick get a summer job. Going back again the next year he knew he loved life on Monhegan and wanted to stay year round on island. That is when he made the decision to become a lobsterman. In 2020, Nick made the commitment and investment to become a full time commercial fisherman based on Monhegan. He purchased his first boat ‘The Chris’ from another Monhegan fisherman, Chris Smith, who had purchased it from the famous Odom brothers.
A first generation fisherman, he has seen and experienced firsthand the struggle many in the industry face with housing, a reality especially acute on a remote island.
Now President of MISCA, he hopes to continue the past successes of the association with a particular goal of creating more year round moderately priced housing that could in turn provide for more commercial fishing opportunities on our island.
Born and raised in the Southern State of Virginia, Jon first visited Monhegan in 1999. A regular visitor ever since, he closed his Interior Design Firm in Charlottesville, VA at the onset of the COVID outbreak to commit to full time summers on the Island. Since then he has held various jobs including; clerking at the Monhegan Store, cooking at the Fish House, managing The John Henry Sterling Harbor House B&B, operations manager for Brackett Rentals as well as being one of our trusted Dock Managers.
Jon is said to know "everyone' on the island and brings his formidable people skills to MISCA. His passion is creating increased synergy between the various groups and associations serving Monhegan. To that end Jon is also on the board of Island Associates, the land trust preserving Monhegans wide open spaces.
Jon describes Monhegan as the 'magic place' and is committed to working to ensure that this magic will continue for generations to come.

Lisa grew up in New Harbor, Maine and started coming to Monhegan Island in 1996 as a day tripper. She only visited a couple of times that summer but it was enough to know that she needed more. The following few summers she came more often and in November of 2000 bought her house on Fish Beach. In 2004 she became a year round resident. She initially rented the top half of her home for weekly rentals in the summer, along with monthly winter rentals at a much lower cost. Seeing the need for year round housing, she turned to a year round rental which she maintains to this day.
Lisa has done a number of jobs over the years, including running the Monhegan Store, baking her famous donuts, and currently runs the Bait Bag food truck at the brewery.
She has loved Monhegan ever since first stepping onto the dock. She is grateful to be able to live here and to be a Trustee of MISCA and is passionate about finding year round housing for others who love the island as much as she does.

Marc was born and raised in Central Maine and somehow didn't discover Monhegan Island until attending a wedding there in 2021. It was love at first sight and he purchased a cottage in 2022 becoming a full time summer resident.
Marc has an extensive background in Residential Real Estate having worked many years in downtown Boston and Los Angeles, CA where he was a SVP with Sotheby's International Realty serving as Brokerage Manager for an office of 100 agents. He has extensive knowledge of the many aspects of real estate having worked on residential rentals and sales, investment properties, new development and affordable housing.
Now retired, Marc is excited to bring his knowledge and time to the Monhegan Community where he recognizes the need for smart future development that will preserve the uniqueness and character of Monhegan while at the same time ensuring long term, year round viability and housing for all who wish to call Monhegan home.

Mary has been a full-time resident of Monhegan since 2011. She has served on the
Monhegan School Committee, the Monhegan Library Board, and Monhegan
Associates. Mary spent her first two years on the island as the Monhegan School
teacher and now, along with her husband Matt, owns and operates Monhegan Brewing
Company. As MISCA participants themselves, Mary and Matt are deeply commited to
supporting MISCA’s mission.

MISCA is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for right-of-way clearing and burial of internet cables.
