We encourage everyone who enjoys Monhegan's beauty and wishes to preserve its community to join MISCA. We invite all full & associate members to attend trustees' meetings, participate in the July annual meeting, and contribute their ideas & energy to make MISCA a success.

Full voting membership ($25 a year) is available to individuals who own land on Monhegan or to those visitors who have spent a cumulative total of two years on the Island.

Associate membership ($25 a year) is available to anyone concerned about conserving Monhegan & its viability as a year-round community.
Members vs. Trustees
Members = the community base
- Anyone who meets eligibility (time on Monhegan or family/property connection) and pays dues.
- Members elect Trustees and can vote on bylaw changes.
- Members give MISCA its legitimacy and direction.
Trustees = the governing board
- Elected by the members.
- Trustees manage MISCA’s land, housing projects, finances, and programs.
- They also appoint committees and oversee officers.
- Trustees carry legal responsibility for keeping MISCA true to its mission.
